  1. They are expressive monkey faces. Now, I want you to understand that this shape is certainly more "iconic" than abstract, and is more "drawn" than a characteristic of the tool itself.

    But moving forward to shape C, be sure you strive to achieve communicative, abstraction (like you did in shape A). The iterative process of simplification and reduction will help you achieve that. Remember, at the last office meeting I suggested you sketch with "dots" and "lines"? Do this to communicate "desire" and "warmth".

    The layers and overlay for the taxonomy is a good and appropriate format. In particular I enjoy your use of arrows to denote "how the mark was made"!
